You can access the custom color feature by placing a shape on the page. Click on that shape then click the Frame Settings tab, located on the right hand side of the page in the advanced tab menu.
You will see the option to edit the color here and select the ‘custom’ option from the drop down. We do plan to make this a top toolbar feature soon though!
