June Check-In: Finishing the Year Strong
Congratulations — most schools are officially wrapping up another yearbook season! After all the deadlines, deliveries, and distribution excitement, June is the perfect time to tie up loose ends and set yourself up for an even smoother start next year.
Here are a few end-of-year reminders and ideas as you head into summer:
1. Keep Post-Approval Sales Active
If you still have families hoping to purchase a copy, make sure your post-approval sales are turned on. Summer can still bring in late sales from students, graduates, and parents who missed the original deadline. These orders are easy and simple for the yearbook advisor and the orders are shipped directly to the students' home address. No worrying about passing out these books when they arrive!

2. Organize Final Sales & Distribution Records
Before summer break begins, double-check:
- Outstanding balances
- Pickup lists
- Unclaimed books
- Donation copies or extras
Having everything organized now makes back-to-school follow-up much easier.

3. Capture Distribution & Graduation Photos
Distribution day excitement makes great content for:
- Social media
- Recruitment
- Marketing next year’s book
- Contest submissions
If you have photos from delivery day, signing parties, or graduation events, save them somewhere your future staff can access.
4. Get Next Year’s Team Ready Early
Have new staff members volunteering or joining your yearbook team next year? Summer is the perfect time to add them as users to your account so they can begin exploring the software and getting comfortable before the school year starts.
If you haven’t already re-signed for next year, now is also a great time to get that completed so your account is ready to go when your team returns in the fall.
To get started, simply reach out to your Account Manager. They’ll send you a quick online form to complete and help make sure everything is set up for a smooth start next year.
5. Reflect With Your Staff
Take a few minutes to ask:
- What worked really well this year?
- What would we improve?
- What traditions should continue?
Even a quick staff reflection can help next year’s team start stronger.
