This help article outlines key items to focus on during January to keep your yearbook project on track. These steps are designed to build momentum early, avoid last-minute stress, and take advantage of available resources.
Watch our January Check-In video below!
1. Cover Deadline
Your cover has an earlier approval deadline than your interior pages to help keep you on track and speed up production if you have a cover upgrade such as a leatherette or foil. Starting with the cover helps set the visual theme and direction for the entire book.
If you have a cover upgrade please be sure to reach out to your account manager ASAP to ensure you meet your deadlines and maintain your turn-around-time.
Why the early deadline matters:
- Once approved, the cover can move into production ahead of time
- Establishes consistency for fonts, colors, and design style
- Helps your staff feel confident moving forward
If your cover is already approved, you’re in great shape. If not, prioritizing it early in the semester can make the rest of the yearbook process smoother.
You can view your cover deadline by going to the Manage Tab and selecting Manage Deadlines

Typically, you can request up to three proofs and you can view your proof deadlines by going to the manage tab and selecting Manage Deadlines

You can also access these resources online at: edonext.edopublishing.com
These resources cover common questions, workflows, and best practices for using the platform efficiently.
6. Design Review (Recommended Near Completion)
The Design Review is a recommended step once your book is more than 90% complete and this feature costs 2 design points*. You can request by going to the Create Tab and selecting Design Review

What the review includes:
- Background bleed checks
- Text overflow issues
- Photo resolution concerns
- Obvious spelling issues in page headlines
- One of our Graphic Designers will review your book digitally and provide a report directly in your account.
⚠️ Note: This is not a full spell check of the entire book. Spell check tools are available on the ladder and within each page designer. This is a responsibility of the school/yearbook advisor.
⚠️ Note: Our designers cannot spell check names or proof portrait pages. This is a responsibility of the school/yearbook advisor.
*Design Points are a form of currency provided by Entourage (based on your order size) and can be redeemed for marketing materials, proof books, custom design work, or design reviews. Each point is worth $20, or approximately 20 minutes of design time.
