🖼️ Selecting a Frame Beneath Another

When working with overlapping elements, you may need to select a frame that sits underneath another.

Steps

  1. Select the frame that is on top.
  2. On your keyboard, press and hold CTRL (CMD for MAC).
  3. While holding CTRL, left‑click on the frame beneath.
  4. Make sure your cursor is hovering directly over the desired frame when you click.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

Important Note

  • This method works for single overlaps (one frame beneath another).
  • If multiple frames overlap, this shortcut will not cycle through them. In that case, use the Frame Index to bring the desired frame to the front, where you can then select it.
  • Works whether the underlying element is a photo, text box, or clipart.
