We offer large galleries of Templates and Backgrounds to choose from. You can bookmark templates and backgrounds or save a designed page as a custom template.  Follow these steps to insert any template onto your yearbook page.

Inserting a Template

1. Open the EDOnline designer by going to the Design tab and clicking on Page Design. Select the page/spread that you would like to place a template on in the ladder to open that page/spread canvas.

2. In the left toolbar, select the Template button.

3. Choose a template category from the list or search for one in the search bar. You can search for certain colors, styles, people pages, etc. If you want to place your own custom template you made you can select the blue “My Templates & Pages” button at the top.

4. Browse through the templates and select the one you would like to use. To see a better preview of the template, hover over the top right corner of the template and click on the magnifying glass. A popup window will appear that shows you a larger preview of the template, link to view in Edge, bookmark a template for later access in the Bookmarks category, and show what labels it is listed under so you can search for similar templates.

5. Click on the template you would like to place on a page. Once it is selected and highlighted green, you can see a small pop up that says “Insert Ready” and you can click anywhere on the page you want it on to place it.

6. After placing your template, if there is any pre-existing content, you will be asked if you would like to insert the template On Top of your current page or Replace the contents on your page. Choosing Replace will delete all the content on your page and replace it with the template. On top will just place the template on top of whatever you have on the page.

Now that the template is placed on your page, you can do whatever you want to it! All the content on the template is editable, so you can change or remove anything. When you hover over images and they highlight in green, you can remove, move, or change the scale. Any text you can edit the words and make sure you replace or delete all filler text in the template before finishing your book!

If you make any edits to the template and want to apply the same one to other pages, save your page and then save as a custom template. You can then apply the template with your edits to other pages without having to redo the same edits over and over!

How to Bookmark a template

If you find a template you like, and you would like to come back to it at a later time, you can also bookmark your template. If you are in the designer, search for a template you like, then hover over the right hand corner of the template so a magnifying glass appears. Click on the magnifying glass to bring up a preview of the template. Under template details, there is an option to Bookmark Template. Click in the box to the right of that text to bookmark the template.

Your Bookmarks will appear under the blue highlighted category labeled Bookmarks.

How to Search for a Template

You can search for templates by using keywords. For example, if you would like to use a template with a Christmas theme, type the word “Christmas” into the search field and click Apply Filter.

If you want to search for similar templates to what you used before, search the template labels located in the pop up when you click the magnifying glass over the template!
