Troubleshooting – Basics

If you are currently experiencing trouble with using EDOnline, please try the following steps to resolve the issue. If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please call our tech support line so that we may further assist you.

Browser Recommendations

When at all possible, please use Google Chrome or Firefox as your internet browser. Many small issues can be fixed by switching to these browsers with a larger capacity than other browsers!

Clearing Cache on Google Chrome

Let’s try clearing your browsing history and cached files. Clearing your browsing history and cached files will help refresh the EDOnline pages you’re using. If you are unfamiliar with clearing the browsing history and cached files on Google Chrome or Firefox, please view the steps below.

In Google Chrome, find the three vertically stacked dots in the upper right corner of the browsing window. Click on the three dots icon, then select History in the drop-down menu that appears, and History again in the sub drop-down menu. This will open a new tab in your browser called ‘History’ if completed successfully.

Once in the newly opened tab called History, click on the button Clear Browsing Data, found on the left. This should open a small window in the middle of your screen.

In the popup window, click on Basic and make sure it is emphasized in blue. You should have three check boxes ticked in the window, and the Time Range drop-down should have “All time” selected. Then, select the blue button Clear Data.

Note! This will clear all browsing data, including any cached cookies to other websites.

Clearing Cache on Firefox

To clear the browsing history and cached files in Firefox, find the three horizontal lines stacked in the upper right corner of the browsing window. Click on that icon then select History, then Clear Recent History. This will open the Clear All History tab in your browser.

First, make sure that the time range selected in the drop-down menu is set to Everything. Then, make sure that Browsing & Download History, Cookies, and Cache are all checked. The other check boxes can be left blank. Finally, click the OK button.

Clearing the history and cached files on your computer at least once a week is great for the health of your computer, not just connecting to our site.

Note: It may log you out of any email or accounts that you were logged into during the time that you cleared the data.
